On October 28, 2025, JET Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) concerning an ERS-based ammonia recovery project.The agreement was concluded at USM’s Engineering Campus.

ERS is a highly effective technology for waste treatment and resource recovery. Its applications extend across multiple engineering disciplines. 
USM is a comprehensive engineering-focused university with strong research capabilities in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, and chemical engineering. Research related to combustion and thermal energy is also particularly active. 

Through collaboration within this broad academic environment, the partners expect to advance evaluations of resource characteristics derived from ERS. Fundamental studies on potential future energy utilization are also anticipated. 

Based on this agreement, JET and USM plan to engage in the following activities: 

• – Implementation of an ammonia recovery project using ERS 

• – Interdisciplinary research collaboration across multiple engineering fields 

• – Cooperation on related technologies, including ammonia gas recovery 

• – Contributions through participation in practical, application-oriented research 

Building on the expertise accumulated through ERS projects in Japan, JET will promote joint research initiatives centered on collaboration with USM.
