Operating ERS with Solar-Powered Electric Boiler in Collaboration with Deakin University, Australia

Thank you for visiting JET Inc.
In December 2023, JET partnered with Deakin University in Australia as part of the “Recycling of Marine, Food, and Agricultural Waste” initiative to install our ERS system—a rapid fermentation and drying biomass recycling device—within the “Bio-Factory” laboratory on the university’s Waurn Ponds campus. For the first time, this system was paired with solar energy through an electric boiler, enabling fossil fuel–free operation, in contrast to conventional fire-tube boilers.
This innovative combination of converting electricity (from solar power) into steam for biomass processing is rare globally—a truly unique collaboration.

The project is carried out in partnership with Deakin’s REACH (Recycling & Clean Energy Commercialisation Hub), and is supported by grants from the Australian Government’s Trailblazer Universities Program and the State of Victoria. By enabling the effective use of organic resources within Australia’s agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors, our ERS technology not only reduces environmental impact but also contributes to promoting a circular economy, stabilizing the cost of organic feed and fertilizer, and opening new market opportunities.
We look forward to sharing further results from this research in the near future.
